In one sense, the Kilominx is to the Megaminx what the pocket cube is to the Rubik's cube. Another way to think of it is as a corners-only Megaminx - a Megaminx with no edges. The version shown in the picture was picked up from an online store and the brand is unknown. It turns beautifully though and is a really nice puzzle to solve.

It is a fairly easy puzzle to solve and you can use your cube intuition to get most of the way, solving everything except the last layer without much difficulty. I then permute the corners on the bottom layer until they are in position using the 3-cycle described on this site for the Megaminx. Finally, you can orient the bottom-layer corners the way you might for the simplest approach to solving a cube.
