Penrose Cube

Penrose Cube

The Penrose Cube is a shape modification for the Rubik's Cube. It is named after the English physicist, mathematician and Nobel Laureate, Roger Penrose. Penrose is reputed to have developed an edges-first method for solving the Rubik's Cube.

The puzzle has 3 colours and some duplication of pieces. There are minor alterations to the shape when jumbled and it can be quite confusing to work out how to arrange the pieces when solving. The duplicate pieces throw up parity problems which can be solved intuitively by swapping duplicate pieces before resolving. It is a nice puzzle to have in a collection and offers a fair challenge when trying to solve.
