Twisting Puzzles
Polaris Cube
The Polaris Cube is another Skewb variant. The changes are not trivial though. The star-shaped centre with the 6 triangular edges are the first thing that you notice. It takes a moment to work out what you are going to do with the puzzle because you can twist the corner sections without making any appreciable difference to the puzzle. If you twist the corners 45° then you can make a Skewb turn on the puzzle, which jumbles those edges.
Once jumbled, you have a decent challenge getting the puzzle back to its original state. The turning is a bit awkward, particularly at first but you can get used to it enough to solve the puzzle if you have the patience.
