Getting Started With HTML
It takes some time to get used to using HTML to make web pages. As all old people will tell you, 'There is no substitute for experience'. You need to give yourself a chance to see how the tags behave before committing yourself to designing a whole site. Make a new folder for this task using a sensible name.
First Task
Your mission is to use as many of the features listed as you can in one or two web pages written in HTML. Feel free to experiment with the tags so that you can find out as much as you can about the way that they work. Note down any problems that you come across and how you solved them. If something strikes you as odd or noteworthy about how one of the tags appears on your page, write that down too. It will help you later on.
The list below should help remind you of what was covered in the first page of this section.
- Changing The Background Colour
- The <font> Tag
- Other Tags For Formatting Text
- Creating Hyperlinks To Web Sites
- Creating Links To Other Pages
- Changing The Colour Used To Display Hyperlinks
- Adding Images To Your Pages
- Bullets & Numbers
- Making Tables
- Tables To Help With Layout
